Inductee Selection Criteria

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY THE CRITERIA FOR NOMINATIONS

1. (a) Nominees must have been born in New Brunswick or have lived in New Brunswick for a total twenty of (20) years and; (b) have been in the country music industry for twenty (20) years and contributed to community affairs; (c) and/or have contributed to the education or promotion, preservation and enhancement of country music and/or stage/radio/TV/International appearances.

2. (i) Nominations may be submitted for non-performers; (a) subject to guideline One (1), (a) and (b); and (b) made a significant contribution to the Country Music Industry, promoted New Brunswick Country Music and New Brunswick Country Artists. (ii) A nomination of 3 or more persons shall be considered a group/band and (a) is to be nominated under the group/band name and (b) the nominator of the group/band shall be responsible to name individual members for a particular era and specify same on nomination form.

3. (a) all applications must be submitted, using the online form, to the Inductee Selection Committee Chair. For assistance please contact Claudette. and; (b) the Inductee Selection Committee shall make selections only from the Application Forms received.

4. The Inductee Selection Committee shall use their discretion in deciding if nominee(s) fall into the category of Country Music.

5. A total of four (4) and maximum of five (5) inductees shall be chosen each year.

6. From time to time, an honorary membership may be awarded at the sole discretion of the President and Board of Directors of the New Brunswick Country Music Hall of Fame. These inductions may be made at other events throughout the Province or at the regular yearly Induction Ceremonies, and may be considered as the fifth (5th) inductee or maximum for any given year.

7. (a) “Application for Nominations” form for induction into the New Brunswick Country Music Hall of Fame must be received by the Inductee Selection Committee Chair for consideration by the Committee no later than November 30th of the year preceding the inductions; (b) the Inductee Selection Committee shall meet to select inductees in January of the same year of Induction Ceremonies or as soon thereafter as is possible; (c) names of the selected inductees shall be forwarded by the Inductee Selection Committee Chair to the Board of Directors of the New Brunswick Country Music Hall of Fame for final approval no later than March 31st of the same year of ceremonies.

8. The Inductee Selection Committee shall consist of nine (9) members, plus the President, representing the various regions of the Province.

9. A quorum of five (5) members shall constitute an official meeting of the Inductee Selection Committee.

10. (a) Applications received for nomination will remain on file for five (5) years. After five (5) years, an update and current status shall be required in order to stay current; (b) all information and material received are non returnable; (c) only those nominees selected for induction shall be notified; (d) selections shall be, if possible, from various regions of the Province and not necessarily all from the host city/town.
